Air & Ventilation Hygiene Technician/Surveyor

We are looking to recruit an indoor air quality and ventilation hygiene technician/trainee working throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

London / South East

About the Role

The candidate will be based in London/SE England working on sites throughout the UK from our Dartford office. The role will involve weekend and evening work in addition to the normal weekday. The Technician/Surveyor will be expected to travel, with possible short periods of 3 to 4 days away from home. Reporting directly to the company directors, and once trained, the Technician/Surveyor must be able to work independently as well as becoming a key part of a team of other surveyors and technicians.

The Technician/Surveyor will visit a broad range of commercial and public buildings, including hospitals, to undertake tasks such as compliance surveys and assessments, system monitoring, performance measurements, and surveying with the sampling of the indoor environment and ventilation systems. They will also carry out risk and condition assessments and produce their own customer reports.

Person Specification

Previous knowledge and experience of ventilation systems would be of benefit for the position, although not essential, as extensive training and one-to-one mentoring will be provided. Previous experience of working within the healthcare property mechanical maintenance, building services and the commissioning sector is ideal. A large proportion of our customers lie within the healthcare sector. 

You will be qualified to degree and/or HNC/HND level, or demonstrate a successful proven track record within this field.

Northern Ireland

About the Role


The candidate will be based in Northern Ireland working on sites throughout the UK from our Belfast base. The role will involve weekends and night/evening work in addition to the normal weekday. The Technician/Surveyor will be expected to travel throughout NI, with possible short periods of 2 to 3 days away from home. Reporting directly to the company directors, and once trained, the Technician/Surveyor must be able to work independently as well as becoming a key part of a team of other surveyors and technicians.


AirisQ have a contract for ventilation and indoor air quality compliance services with 5 Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland. The Technician/Surveyor will visit hospitals, to undertake tasks such as compliance surveys and assessments, system monitoring, performance measurements, and surveying with the sampling of the indoor environment and ventilation systems. They will also carry out risk and condition assessments and produce their own customer reports.

Person Specification


Previous knowledge and experience of ventilation systems would be of benefit for the position, and ideally AP and /or CP trained although not essential, as extensive training and one-to-one mentoring will be provided. Successful candidates will be trained as they need to be appointed under the guidelines of the HTM-03 Ventilation systems in healthcare premises and must be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience of mechanical ventilation systems, mechanical principles and theory. Formal training will lead to AP qualifications. Previous experience of working within the healthcare property mechanical maintenance, building services and the commissioning sector is ideal.


You will be qualified to degree and/or HNC/HND level, or AP/CP or demonstrate a successful proven track record and experience within this field.
